Is Can Do Canines a 501(c)(3)?
Yes, we are a nonprofit organization that receives charitable gifts to support its programs and services. These gifts are deductible to you, the donor, as allowed by law.

How efficiently will you use the funds I contribute?
Our average cost to develop a single client/dog team in 2008 was $28,000. While this is a lot of money, we’re very efficient in the use of your funds compared with other organizations providing similar services. In fact, training a guide dog costs between $38,000 and $100,000 at the two largest schools in the United States.

We are very proud of the fact that 85% of our contributed funds are spent on program-related benefits, while only 15% goes to administrative and fundraising costs.

Whom do you serve?
Can Do Canines serves children and adults who are deaf,

hard-of-hearing or living with a physical disability. By helping restore their independence, freedom and peace of mind, our work impacts their families and communities.

We also serve the cause of animal welfare by adopting and training—whenever possible—homeless dogs from local animal shelters.

Will my name be sold if I donate?
No. At this time, we do not exchange names and addresses of our donors with any other organizations.
